ಗುಂಡ್ಲುಪೇಟೆ ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ವಿವರ
|
|
ಗುಂಡ್ಲುಪೇಟೆ ತಾಲ್ಲೋಕು ಕೇಂದ್ರವಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಇದು ಚಾಮರಾಜನಗರ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಗೆ ಸೇರುತ್ತದೆ. ಗುಂಡ್ಲುಪೇಟೆಯು ಚಾಮರಾಜನಗರದಿಂದ ಸುಮಾರು 35 ಕಿ.ಮೀ. ದೂರದಲ್ಲಿರುತ್ತದೆ. ಇತಿಹಾಸದಂತೆ ಗುಂಡ್ಲು ಎಂಬ ನದಿಯಿಂದ ಗುಂಡ್ಲುಪೇಟೆ ಎಂಬ ಹೆಸರು ಬಂದಿದ್ದು, ಗುಂಡ್ಲು ನದಿಯು ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಸಮೀಪ ಹಿರಿಯುತ್ತಿತ್ತು. ಪಟ್ಟಣವು 4.22807 ಚ.ಕಿ.ಮೀ. ವ್ಯಾಪಿಸಿದೆ. ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಜನಸಂಖ್ಯೆ 2001ರ ಸಮೀಕ್ಷೆಯಂತೆ 26340 ಗಳಿರುತ್ತದೆ. ಪಟ್ಟಣದಲ್ಲಿ 23 ವಾರ್ಡುಗಳಿದ್ದು, ಇದರಂತೆ 23 ಸದಸ್ಯರುಗಳಿರುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಗುಂಡ್ಲುಪೇಟೆಯು ತಮಿಳುನಾಡು ಮತ್ತು ಕೇರಳ ರಾಜ್ಯಗಳಿಗೆ ಗಡಿ ಪ್ರದೇಶವಾಗಿದೆ. ಗುಂಡ್ಲುಪೇಟೆಯಿಂದ ಊಟಿ 100 ಕಿ.ಮೀ. ಮತ್ತು ಸುಲ್ತಾನ್ ಬತೆರಿಯು 65 ಕಿ.ಮೀ. ದೂರದಲ್ಲಿರುತ್ತವೆ. ಗುಂಡ್ಲುಪೇಟೆ ಪುರಸಭೆ ಕಟ್ಟಡವು 1889 ರಂದು ಟೌನ್ ಹಾಲ್ ಎಂದು ಸ್ಥಾಪಿತವಗಿರುತ್ತದೆ. ಗುಂಡ್ಲುಪೇಟೆ ಸ್ಥಳೀಯ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯು 1949ರಲ್ಲಿ ಪಟ್ಟಣ ಪಂಚಾಯಿತಿ ಆಗಿದ್ದು, ನಂತರ 1964ರಲ್ಲಿ ಪುರಸಭೆಯಾಗಿರುತ್ತದೆ. 1964 ರಿಂದ 1997ರ ತನಕ ಗುಂಡ್ಲುಪೇಟೆಯು ಮೈಸೂರು ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಗೆ ಸೇರಿದ್ದು, ನಂತರ ಗುಂಡ್ಲುಪೇಟೆಯು ಚಾಮರಾಜನಗರ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಗೆ ಸೇರ್ಪಡೆಯಾಗಿರುತ್ತದೆ. ಗುಂಡ್ಲುಪೇಟೆ ಪಟ್ಟಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಲವಾರು ವಿದ್ಯಾಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳಿರುತ್ತದೆ. ಐತಿಹಾಸಿಕ ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನ ಎಂದು ಹೆಸರಾಗಿರುವ ವಿಜಯ ನಾರಾಯಣಸ್ವಾಮಿ ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ವ್ಯಾಪ್ತಿಯಲ್ಲಿರುತ್ತದೆ. ಗುಂಡ್ಲುಪೇಟೆ ಪಟ್ಟಣವು ಪ್ರವಾಸಿತಾಣವಾಗಿ ಪ್ರಸಿದ್ಧಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಈ ಪಟ್ಟಣದಲ್ಲಿ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಉದ್ಯಾನವನ, ಬಂಡೀಪುರ ಹಾಗೂ ಯಾತ್ರಾ ಸ್ಥಳಗಳಾದ ಪಾರ್ವತಿ ಬೆಟ್ಟ, ಹಿಮವದ್ ಗೋಪಾಲ ಸ್ವಾಮಿ ಬೆಟ್ಟ, ಹುಲಿಗನ ಮುರುಡಿ ವೆಂಕಟರಮಣ ಸ್ವಾಮಿ ಬೆಟ್ಟ ಹಾಗೂ ಇತರೆ ಸ್ಥಳಗಳಿರುತ್ತದೆ. |

Brief note about Gundlupet Town.

| Gundlupet is a town and taluk headquarters situated in Chamarajanagara district at the distance of 35 k. m. History says that the name Gundlupet came from the name of river Gandlu, which was flow near the Town. Gundlupet Town stretched to an area of 4.22807 sq.k.m. The Census report of the year 2001 shows that gundlupet had a population of 26,368 inhabitants. Statistics record that the town had an average literacy rate of 63%. This is higher than the nationwide standard lieracy rate of 59.5%. There are 23 wards in Gundlupet Town among which 23 Councilors are elected and 5 Councilors are nominated. Town is the Gateway to the Bordering state of Tamil Nadu & Kerala. Ooty is 100 k.ms away from the Gundlupet Town and also sulthan Batheri is 65k.ms away from the Gundlupet Town.
Town Municipal Council, Gundlupet Building was established in 1889 as Town Hall. Gundlupet was Constituted in 1949 as Town Panchayath, then after Gundlupet was Constituted in 1964 as Town Municipal Council. From 1964 to 1997 Gundlupet was belonging to Mysore District. Then after Gundlupet was belonging to Chamarajnagar District. Gundlupet Town has good number of education institute and nursing school. The famous Historical Temple Vijaya Narayana Swamy Temple is situated within the Town limits. Gundlupet town was famous for Tourism place. This Town has National Park Bandipura and has piligrim places like Parvathi Hill, Himavadh Gopal Swamy hill, Huligana Murudi Venkata Ramana Swamy Hill etc,.
